At IM Properties, our ambition is to create positive change in the communities where we work, benefitting the local economy through jobs, training, and local investment.

The £350,000 Mercia Park Community Fund, managed by the Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation, was set up to have a positive social value impact on the communities surrounding its scheme. The scheme has benefitted 61 projects and groups who have used the funding to make a real difference in the local area.

In the Pink are a unique, free, movement-based rehabilitation for breast cancer survivors based in Leicestershire and Rutland.

The group received a £5,985 grant from the Mercia Park Community Fund, which went toward delivering a free eight-week Breast Cancer Rehabilitation programme.

The Coneyberry Millenium Trust received a grant of £2,000 for improvements to the Coneyberry Millenium Green in Clifton Campville.

The grant helped pay for improvements to paths and reinstating a pond, bringing benefits to wildlife and the local community.

The Orchard Allotment Society received a grant of £4,000 for improvements at their allotment in the village of Donisthorpe.

The funding was used for new sheds, which were previously in a poor condition. The sheds were designed by an allotment user and built by a local supplier.

Over 3,000 people have worked on site during the construction of Mercia Park, clocking up approximately half a million hours of work.

240 of these workers were employed from the local area and 2,160 from the Midlands region.

The site is expected to support around 3,400 jobs when fully operational, providing a home for leading international businesses including Jaguar Land Rover and DSV Group, and bringing and annual contribution to the local economy of £139million GVA.

“Six training courses
have been delivered to
date for unemployed
job-seekers”

An on-site training centre, set up at Merica Park during the construction phase, has seen multiple courses covering training for unemployed job seekers, Mental Health First Aid Training and confined space training.

Six training courses have been delivered to date for unemployed job-seekers, supporting 32 people to gain industry specific qualifications and CSCS cards

A Sustainability and Innovation Hub was also set up at Mercia Park, providing a space to showcase first-hand how technology is used with the Construction Industry.

The space has also been used for training, subcontractor briefings and hosting student visits including SMB College Group and Burton and South Derbyshire College.
